More than scrap value, when your car has it
Why sell a junk car to a dealership?
Scrap yards and junk-removal services usually price a car by its weight and the metal in it. That's the right call for a vehicle that's truly at the end of the road. But plenty of "junk" cars aren't. A car with a bad transmission, a blown head gasket, or 200,000 miles can still be worth real money to someone who can fix it.
FC Motors has its own service department right here on Candia Road. Our technicians know what it takes to put a car back on the road, and we factor that into our offer — so a car with life left in it isn't priced like scrap metal.
And if your car really is done? We'll tell you that straight, too. Still deciding whether a repair is worth it? Our guide to fixing or selling a car with a blown engine or bad transmission walks through the math.

New Hampshire paperwork
What you need to sell a junk car in NH
Old or not, a junk car still changes hands on paper. Here's what to have ready.
- Title (model year 2000 and newer)Ownership transfers on the title. If there's a loan, the lender's lien has to be released first, and we handle the payoff and the lien release.
- Registration (1999 and older)Most older vehicles are title-exempt in NH (heavy trucks aren't). Your registration, current or expired, plus a bill of sale does the job.
- Valid photo IDA driver's license or state ID for everyone named on the title or registration.
- Keys, if you have themEvery key and fob that goes with the car. Let us know if any are missing.
- Your plates stay with youTake them off before you hand over the car. You can transfer them through your town clerk — in Manchester, the Tax Collector's office.
- Loan detailsYour lender's name and account info, or a recent payoff quote, if you still owe on it.

Good to know
Junk car questions
Do you buy cars that don't run?
Yes. We buy cars, trucks, and SUVs that won't start, have engine or transmission trouble, or need more work than they're worth to you. Tell us what's wrong and we'll give you an honest number.
How much will I get for my junk car?
It depends on the year, make, model, and mileage, what's wrong with it, and what it would take to fix. Because we have our own service shop, a car we can put back on the road is often worth more to us than its scrap value. Tell us about the car and we'll give you a straight number, with no obligation.
Do I need a title to sell a junk car in New Hampshire?
For model year 2000 and newer, yes: ownership transfers on the title. Most 1999 and older vehicles are title-exempt in New Hampshire (heavy trucks are the exception), so for those your registration, current or expired, plus a bill of sale transfers ownership. If there's a loan, the lender's lien has to be released first, and we handle the payoff and the lien release. Our guide to selling a car in New Hampshire covers the paperwork in detail.
My car can't be driven. How do I get it to you?
Call us at 603-965-2870 before anything else. Tell us where the car is and what's wrong with it, and we'll talk through the options for getting it to our lot on Candia Road.
Can I sell a junk car I still owe money on?
Yes. We pay your lender directly and handle the lien release. If the car is worth less than what you owe, we'll show you the numbers and talk through your options before you decide anything. Our guide to being upside down on a car loan lays them out.
How will I be paid?
We pay by cash, certified check, or bank funds. Once we agree on a price and confirm the title or loan payoff, most sellers are paid the same day.
